Can you say you did it all in one day? Join the park educator to hike them all at Vosburg Neck State Park. There are 7 miles of trails, but this will be a 9-mile journey as we will have to overlap a few trails to ensure we cover everything.

We will complete roughly 4 miles in the morning, break for lunch, and then complete the last 5 miles in the afternoon. Morning trails will be along the river and flatter. Afternoon trails will be on a hilly section and will have more varied terrain. Participants may choose to complete only the morning section or the entire hike.

Registered participants who complete the entire hike will also receive a commemorative sticker. Please register by May 21.

The park has trekking poles available to borrow for this hike. If you are interested in borrowing a pair, please leave a note in the comments when you register.

We'll talk about what causes color and use what we learn to discuss why there are temperature differences between colors. We'll also talk about other reasons for temperature differences and what it means about the choices we make as humans.

Activities will involve recording data in a table and working as a group to calculate an average, as well as creating a map.

Join us to sample some local honey, as well as violet jelly made from flowers foraged at the park, as we celebrate the relationship between plants and pollinators. We'll hear from Melissa Wright, Penn State Extension's Master Gardener Coordinator for Wyoming County, as she shares more with us about the relationship between pollinators and native plants. There will be an opportunity for households to take home a native plant plug or native seed mix that can help convert lawn to meadow.

hike on Saturday, October 24! Participants should meet by 7:30 p.m. for sign-in and to receive a FREE glowstick!

Join the group on a four-mile hike combining the Canal, Eagle and River Trails, as well as Vosburg Road. The trails are relatively level but will see some uphill and downhill on Vosburg Road. Hikers are encouraged to bring a sufficient supply of water for a couple of hours, and appropriate clothing and footwear (hiking shoes or boots) for the weather and the evening-time. Flashlights/headlamps will be encouraged to remain off during the hike, but may be useful when returning to vehicles.

This exciting event is free and open to the public, but we ask that you please register so we
can get a headcount for glowsticks and prepare with enough guides on the trail.
Registration for this event closes on Thursday, Oct. 22.
