Anyone, ages 12 years and older with an interest in learning the basics of fly fishing equipment, knot tying, casting techniques and on the water skills is welcome. It is the perfect opportunity to learn fly fishing basics and meet other fly anglers. All equipment is provided. Those under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

NOTE: The fishing license requirement is waived during the program for participants age 16 and older.

About the Event

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly fish?  Now is your opportunity to learn about fly fishing! Join PFBC staff and Fishing Skills Instructors (FSI) for this FREE program, designed to introduce you to the basics of fly fishing!    

During the program instructors cover following topics -   
Fly Fishing gear  
Knots to know  
Flies
Casting
Reading the water  
Hooking, landing, and releasing fish  

Fly fishing gear and instruction is provided for the duration of the program at no cost to participants!

Join PFBC staff and Fishing Skills Instructors (FSI) for this, 2 hour, in-person program, designed to introduce you to the basics of kayak!    

Topics and/or skills covered include:  
Safety on the water  
What you need to know before you go kayak fishing  
Kayaks and paddles  
Fishing basics
Lake habitat and where to find fish
Basic fishing and boating regulations
Fishing from a kayak  

Participants who register and attend the program, will receive a post program email that includes a kayak fishing, digital packet to help you continue your journey. 

This program is designed for participants interested in learning about basic paddling skills and kayak fishing equipment. Participants must be at least 16 years of age, and a parent or guardian must accompany minors. All equipment is provided.
