Join a state park naturalist as we search for nature's percussionist! Ralph Stover State Park has the habitat to support all 7 species of woodpeckers that nest in PA. On this hike, we will aim to find, enjoy, and learn about as many species as we can! The distance of this hike will be dependent upon wildlife but will range between ~1.5-3 miles and will be over uneven terrain with significant elevation changes. A few pairs of binoculars will be available to borrow if you do not have your own. Beginners to birding are welcome and encouraged to join!
- Bathrooms: There is a port-o-john at the parking lot.
- What to Bring: Appropriate footwear for hiking is required. Please be sure to dress in layers and bring water/a snack. If you have your own binoculars, please bring them!
- Special Considerations: Dogs are not permitted on this hike.
