Wonderful Woodcocks; Terrific Timberdoodles

Woodcocks are birds in Pennsylvania with unique and magnificent courtship displays and you may not even know they are right outside your door!

Join the park naturalist for a short indoor program inside the park office about the habits and characteristics of this bird and then put your new woodcock ID skills to work as we take a short walk to the timberdoodle disco at sunset!  We may just be lucky enough to catch a dancing male in the act, but if not we can look and listen for owls, frogs, and other nocturnal creatures of French Creek.

(Please dress for the weather - the woodcock doesn't fly in the rain, but he doesn't seem to mind the cold. If there is rain, we will still hold the indoor portion of the program inside the park office)
