WInterfest is free to attend and boasts a wide selection of educational activities, demonstrations, vendors and more! Last year's event welcomed 3,000 attendees. Highlights this year include: Photo Contest, Guided hikes with Public Lands, Live Music, Horse Drawn Wagon Rides, Local craft vendors, Food and Snacks, DCNR Educational Experiences, Children's Games and Activities, Chain saw carving demos, Disc Golf with Pittsburgh Flying Disc, Ambassador birds from Tamarack Wildlife Center, Moraine Sailing Club, Scavenger Hunt, Swag Bags to the first 250 families with a chance to win Preston Pearl cruise tickets- And so much more! Your host Moraine Preservation Fund (MPF) is a non-profit, volunteer organization that supports Moraine State Park. MPF has helped to develop important wildlife restoration projects like Project BATitat, the Osprey and Barn Owl Reintroduction Programs, along with the creation of a Native Plant & Butterfly Trail near the center. It is our mission to promote stewardship of natural resources within Moraine State Park, McConnells Mills and Jennings Environmental Education Center. And it is in keeping with this mission that we host Winterfest to encourage families to adventure into nature during the winter months.
