Wildflower Identification Workshop

2951 Prospect Rd., Slippery Rock, PA 16057-5023

Free Event

Wildflowers are nature's fireworks!  The variety of colors, shapes and sizes abound.  Join Jennings' staff to deepen your identification skills and gain more appreciation for the uniqueness of the summertime flowers all around us.

This in-depth workshop, for ages 16 and older, will guide you in becoming a better naturalist by explaining the meaning of botanical terms while dissecting a flower to understand plant structure and parts. Then practice using field guides and keys to identify flowers growing in the Jennings prairie.

This is a FREE workshop, however, pre-registration is required no later than Wednesday, July 10th by clicking on the green button to the right or calling the Center at 724-794-6011.

Jennings is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled.  The trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset for hiking and other environmentally related activities.  If you need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, please contact Jennings at 724-794-6011.  With at least three days’ notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs.
