Wild About Woodpeckers

Join park naturalist, Rob Bergstresser, for an in-depth look at the “rock star drummers” of the avian world! Pennsylvania is home to 7 species of woodpeckers that provide a vital “framework” for our forest ecosystem. We’ll cover the basic biology and identification of all 7 species, and take a 2.5-mile (easy-to-moderately difficult) hike around our Day Use Area, in search of signs of woodpeckers.  Please wear sturdy walking/hiking shoes, and bring water if needed.

We will be meeting at the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) building for this program.

*Rain will cancel the hike.

Registration is REQUIRED, as group size is limited. Please register each individual attending, separately.
