This workshop will be held at Carbon County Environmental Education Center which is located just outside of Jim Thorpe. Housed in a converted 1920s dairy barn, the center is located on 70 acres of woodland, wetland, and meadow within Mauch Chunk Lake Park.
C.C.E.E.C. will be holding this workshop for formal and non-formal educators. This workshop will cover activities on adaptation, natural history, and conservation status of raptors. It will provide educators with a greater understanding of Pennsylvania’s raptors and the challenges they face in today’s world.We will utilize Birds of Prey (Raptors) as a lens to integrateyour curriculum and connect them to the new PA STEELS standards.
A tour of the grounds will include seeing many species of raptors as well as a live raptor presentation. Dress for comfort for indoors and outdoor activities. It is recommended to wear good footwear. Bring a packed lunch and binoculars. CCEEC is an outdoor education and wildlife rehabilitation facility.
