WILD About Elk Educator Workshop
This hands-on workshop will explore the natural history and habitat needs of Pennsylvania elk, historical and current management strategies, and research techniques including an attempted elk calf research activity with the Game Commission.
Staff from PA Game Commission, Keystone Elk Country Alliance and PA State Parks will guide participants through hands-on educational activities which can easily be integrated into science, language arts, math, art, and social studies curriculums and will address current standards for Environment and Ecology.
Agenda will include both indoor and outdoor activities including an optional attempted elk calf capture research activity with the Game Commission. Participants should dress comfortably and be well prepared for the outdoors. Optional calf capture requires off trail hiking (i.e., hiking up and down steep hills, uneven surfaces, through fields w/limited ground visibility, and through forests).
Pre-registration is required by June 3, 2026. Space is limited to 30 participants. This workshop is for teachers and non-formal educators. For more information or to register, please call 814-787-5173 or email ConEdSp@KECAUS.com
