WILD About Bears Educator Workshop

Join PA State Park and Game Commission Educators for a Professional Development workshop focused on bears!

 

This hands-on workshop will introduce you to black bear biology, research trapping efforts, & management practices, as well as resources though Project WILD for your classroom to meet PA STEELS standards. An attempt to trap a live bear will be made to show you how and why bears are trapped and assessed by the Game Commission, while giving you an up-close look at the animal.

 

This workshop is open to classroom teachers and non-formal educators such as pre-service teachers, homeschool parents, naturalists, and scout leaders. 

 

Project WILD's K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide will be provided to all participants. Six (6) Act 48 hours are available to educators holding Pennsylvania public school certifications.
