Join Pennsylvania State Parks, Stroud Water Research Center, and fellow educators from across PA for two full days of hands-on, minds-on learning in the Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE) curricular framework and DCNR’s Watershed Education (WE) curriculum! Discover dozens of FREE inquiry-based, interdisciplinary activities geared for students in grades 6 –12 from the WE curriculum, and explore how MWEEs can increase standards-based student achievement and stewardship among all ages.
Participants who attend both days of in-person instruction, in addition to completing the 3-hour online MWEE 101 course, will be fully certified as PA MWEE Ambassadors and receive their own copy of the WE Teacher Manual.
Pennsylvania certified teachers can earn up to 15 Act 48 hours: six hours for each face-to-face workshop on June 29 and 30, plus three additional hours if they complete the MWEE 101 online course prior to the workshop.
It is strongly encouraged that participants take the FREE MWEE 101 course prior to attending the in-person workshops. This course is OPTIONAL if participants do not wish to become Certified PA MWEE Ambassadors but is required if they do. Please scroll down for more information.
BONUS! Educators from IUs 18, 20, and 21 who attend both days will receive over $100 in instructional resources to support watershed exploration in their classroom.
Registration is currently restricted to educators from Intermediate Units (IU) 18, 20 and 21, but this may be extended to the general public if space allows. Registration is REQUIRED with a highly limited number of seats.
