Canceled: Virtual: Watershed Education Institute

**This workshop has been cancelled**

*This is a blended Virtual and In-person Institute.*

Do you want to learn more about incorporating inquiry into your classroom and creating Meaningful Watershed Education Experiences (MWEE) for your students? Participants in the Kings Gap Watershed Institute will learn valuable skills that will support engaging outdoor learning experiences through virtual meetings, online learning opportunities, self-guided investigations, online group work, and time for reflection and application.

Participants are asked to complete the MWEE101 Online Course prior to the start of the institute and will receive a copy of DCNR's Watershed Education Curriculum.  Successful completion of the course and the final project will qualify formal educators for a $550 stipend and provide access to funding to assist in creating and implementing an action project as part of their MWEE.

We have expanded our enrollment to include both formal and nonformal educators.  Non-formal educators are eligible to receive up to $500 to help support a teacher or teachers in the creation and implementation of a Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE)stewardship and civic action project.  Non-formal educators who sign up with a classroom teacher are BOTH eligible for up to $500 to support creation and implement a MWEE stewardship and civic action project.

*As per grant requirements, only classroom teachers are eligible for participation stipends.

Participants can earn 50 ACT 48 hours for full course attendance plus 3 additional hours for the Online MWEE101 Course. Graduate credit is also available through Mary Baldwin University - ask prior to registering for the course if interested.
