An interactive and engaging training that will provide educators with new ways to address PA Environmental Literacy and Sustainability standards using inquiry-based lessons and student-driven investigations into local environmental issues and solutions. 

Training includes: 1 virtual meeting + 2 in-person field days

Tuesday, July 21, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM, Virtual via Microsoft Teams, and

Tuesday, July 28, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, & Wednesday July 29, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, in-person at White Clay Creek Preserve, 405 Sharpless Rd, Landenberg, PA 19350

Participants are asked to attend all 3 parts of the training.

Fee: $20.00 pre-registration and pre-payment required.

Scholarships are available.

This training is designed for classroom teachers and non-formal educators working with students in grades 6-12 and will include both indoor and outdoor activities, such as stream habitat evaluation, biological and chemical investigations, and even a chance to get to know the creek through freshwater snorkeling (all equipment is provided).

Participants will receive a completion certificate, a copy of the Bureau of State Parks Watershed Education educator guide, 3 teaching charts, 2 large watershed maps, and additional resources.
