Water and Slag Walking Tour  

Join local historian Andre Weltman to see the furnace “head race” and “slag heap,” a man-made mountain of waste products from smelting iron. Meet at the Old Stone Furnace Stack for an introductory presentation on these topics, then walk ½ mile on very uneven terrain, moderate slopes and a little mud -- wear proper footwear. For the walking half of this event, space is limited to 15 -- to visit the slag heap, register online.
