Join us by attending a 1 mile walk with Dr. Ralph Schmetz, MD, FACP, FACE on Panhandle Trailhead in South Fayette! The run will start with a short Q&A with the Doctor followed by the group walk!
This is a easy to medium 1 mile accessible part paved, part gravel Trail. Restroom facilities are available at the trailhead.

About the Doc: Dr. Ralph Schmeltz, MD, FACP, FACE A graduate of Columbia College , Dr. Ralp Schmeltz received his MD from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in 1967. He completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine in 1972 at the University of Pittsburgh, interrupted by service in the United States Air Force where he served as a flight surgeon and Chief of Aerospace Medicine at the USAF Regional Hospital, Westover AFB, attaining the rank of Major. Returning to Pittsburgh he completed an NIH fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, and a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology. On finishing his training, he went into private practice though geographical full time at Magee-Womens Hospital, the OB-Gyn hospital of the University of Pittsburgh where he served as Associate Chief of Medicine. He established residency rotation for senior medical residents in Medical Complications of Pregnancy from 1974 through 2003. Currently retired from private practice, Dr. Schmeltz remains active in organized medicine on the state and national level.
