Enjoy a walk through the Goat Hill Wild Plant Sanctuary and view the work being done to restore this globally rare and important ecosystem. Experts will be along to identify some of the rare species and explain their unique adaptations and strategies to survive the conditions on the barrens.  William Penn State Forest Manager Stephen Wacker will guide the walk and explain the reasons behind some recent and planned management activities including tree harvesting, clearing, mowing, and prescribed fire.

The walk will involve some steep grades and rough ground so be prepared with closed shoes and long pants, but most of the walk will be fairly level, less than one mile.  Bring water and insect repellant. Rain or shine.
