WHIPPLE DAM - “Get Outdoors Pennsylvania” and join us for a “Walk Around Whipple Lake,” the first “State Parks of Rothrock” hike, around Whipple Lake on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 11 am. George Conrad and Kristin Joivell of the Standing Stone Trail Club will lead the hike. The hike will be about 2 miles in length. Hikers are to park and meet at Pavilion 3. For added fun, after the hike, join us for hot cocoa and cherry cobbler made in a cast iron Dutch oven, in honor of George Washington’s birthday.
“State Parks of Rothrock” is a new series of monthly hikes in partnership of Greenwood Furnace State Park, the Mid State Trail Association, and the Standing Stone Trail Club. The hikes are designed to target a wide variety of experience levels, from the casual to serious hiker. In addition, they will take place in the state parks that are located in the Rothrock State Forest District.
