The event entails 2.5 miles of moderate walking, mostly on improved trail surfaces with about 10 percent off trail to reach the unimproved access to the bluestone quarry where most of the Starrucca Viaduct construction stone was sourced. A short stop is also planned just off trail to view the deteriorated remnants of the original Stickley Furniture factory and the nearby colonial era Brandt Brick Factory.
