Local DCNR service forester, Julian Maza, will lead a hike to the Pine Hill Vista in the Pinchot State Forest. There will be some instruction on tree ID, basic forest ecology, and fun forest facts as we make our way to the observation tower. The Pine Hill Vista offers a spectacular 360-degree view of the Pocono Plateau and will give view to a mix of early fall foliage. Representatives from the North Pocono CARE organization will also be joining the hike to talk about some of the work they do and the importance of conserving and protecting the headwaters of the Lehigh River. The hike to the vista is approximately 0.5 miles and will be along a gated gravel road with some incline.
