Spend a beautiful fall morning walking among fall foliage in the Susquehannock State Forest! Join our Natural Resource Professionals on a group walk exploring the Sustainable Forestry Trail located next to the PA Lumber Museum. Plan to meet at the Rest Area location as you turn into the PA Lumber Museum, before driving up the hill to the Museum parking lot. Coordinates are as follows 41°46'42.4"N 77°49'43.5"W.​​​​​ The trail is less than a mile in length with relatively easy walking conditions. The trail highlights elements of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative such as harvesting treatments, forest management practices, and ecological principles. Please where sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. Feel free to bring water, snacks, and binoculars (you never know what you might see) on the trail with you! With the expanded Sunday hunting dates in Pennsylvania, it is encouraged to wear orange in the woods during hunting season.
