Visit Point State Park for a prime viewing opportunity as the famous Union Pacific 4014 "Big Boy" steam engine travels through Pittsburgh! The world's largest steam locomotive will be on its return journey Westbound, riding the tracks that travel under the Duquesne Incline, just across the river from Point State Park. Find the park naturalist near the Fountain's Pump House to learn about how the railroad industry transformed not just Pittsburgh, but also the park itself. Come by anytime after 2:00 pm to wait on "Big Boy"! If you plan to join the wait, it's recommended to bring a chair and water, as they will not be provided. This program will occur rain or shine, but will end shortly after the train passes through. It is also subject to cancellation due to severe weather or change in railroad schedule.
