Virtual Lunchtime Lecture: Tree ID - Maples, Ash, & Dogwoods
1579 State Park Road, Newport, PA 17074-9428
Winter Tree ID can be challenging but rewarding. We're here to help! In this virtual program we will discuss oppositely arranged trees - Maples, Ash, Dogwoods, and a small handful of others. We will discuss leaf arrangement, as this is the first step in identifying broadleaf trees. Later this month, we'll have two additional lectures to discuss the rest of the broadleaf trees - mainly those that have alternate-leaf arrangements, such as oaks, hickories, black gum, and poplar. After this program, you will have no trouble going out and IDing these trees.
