Virtual Fossils for Kids!

Join the Naturalist of Little Buffalo State Park and staff from the State Library of Pennsylvania as we dive into the fascinating world of fossils! We will learn what a fossil is, how it forms, and what types of fossils we may find here in Pennsylvania. We will then make our own play dough and some fossils of our own!

This program is designed for ages 6-10, but all ages are welcome to join. This is perfect for homeschoolers! In order to participate along with the program, you will need several items from the kitchen.

  • 1 cup of flour (any kind should work)
  • ¼ cup of salt
  • 1 Tbsp cream of tartar (optional)
  • ½ cup of warm water
  • 5 drops of natural food coloring

Here is the recipe we will be using for the program: https://www.diynatural.com/homemade-playdough-recipe/

You must register for this program, which will take place via Zoom. When you register, you will receive instructions and a link on how to join the program. *This is a completely virtual program with no in person contact.*
