Virtual: Botany on Presque Isle

Scientists that study plants and flowers are called Botanists. But you don’t need to be a botanist in order to appreciate how diverse the plant families are. Learn how to best identify and categorize plants by using family traits, as based on a popular book called “Botany in a Day”. Several family examples that are found at Presque Isle will be shown, with description and discussion of each. Join a Naturalist on March 25, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm.

Register by clicking on the green "Register" button. Register by March 23. ZOOM Links will be sent to all registrants the day before the program, thanks to our sponsor, the Tom Ridge Environmental Center Foundation. Please register each guest individually. This program is appropriate for all ages, but may be somewhat advanced for a younger audience. Program may be modified or cancelled at the discretion of park staff.

For more information, please contact the Presque Isle State Park office, located on the second floor of the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, at 814-833-7424.  The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM – 4 PM. If you need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, please contact the park you plan to visit.
