Vernal Pool Walk
3000 State Route 18, Hookstown, PA 15050-1605
Vernal pools are amazing habitats that provide refuge for frogs, salamanders, invertebrates, and more! Join us as we explore one of these seasonal wetlands to look for and learn about the critters that use them. This program consists of a 0.5-mile hike to and from the site, including a hill. We will be exploring wet and muddy terrain, so please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. Nonlatex powder-free gloves are strongly encouraged for handling amphibians. Any questions about the program may be directed to environmental educator Joe at jfranckiew@pa.gov. Free program.
Please note that pets are prohibited at the Wildflower Reserve.
