Uncovering the Hearth - Ashes and Iron

Square meter by square meter, the Frazier sawmill blacksmith shop has been uncovered over the last dozen years.  Many volunteers have joined archaeologists Brian and Amanda Valko Fritz on the dig and now they are closing in on the last section - the hearth.  Be part of the project this summer and learn about archaeology, the park's lumbering history, and the work of a blacksmith.  Brian and Amanda will be on site from 0930 to 1600 so you can choose to dig all day, or visit for an hour.
