Trekking Beltzville Series: The Enchanting Fall Foliage

Fall has arrived, and so has the beautiful foliage! Why do leaves turn different colors in the fall? Why do deciduous trees lose their leaves in the fall, but coniferous trees retain their needles? What do animals do to prepare for a long winter? For our final "Trekking Beltzville Series" of the year, we'll answer all these questions, and more. We'll be hiking the beautiful Trinity Gorge Trail off of Evergreen Drive, during near-peak fall foliage. This will be an easy-to-moderate 2.5 to 3-mile hike. Participants should wear sturdy walking/hiking shoes and bring water.

Registration is required for this program, as space is limited. Please register each individual attending, separately.

We will be meeting at the Trinity Gorge Trailhead off of Evergreen Drive. Directions to Evergreen Drive:

The dirt access road off of Evergreen Drive is located on the south side of the lake, off of Route 209. If approaching Evergreen Drive from northbound 209, turn left onto Evergreen Drive (this is the west side of Evergreen Drive) and proceed approximately 2/10 of a mile to the dirt access road with the yellow gate. The access road will be on your left. The dirt road proceeds downhill to the Trinity Gorge Trailhead parking lot. If approaching from southbound 209, turn right onto Evergreen Drive (this is the east side of Evergreen Drive) and proceed 3/10 of a mile to the yellow gate at the dirt road access to the trailhead parking lot. The access road will be on your right. The general GPS address for the access road off of Evergreen Drive is 300 Evergreen Drive, Lehighton, PA 18235.
