***Program Location: Theodore Roosevelt Recreation Area, PA-611 and Canal Rd., Williams Township, PA ***
Come join an arborist & a park naturalist to learn some tree ID skills while paddling in the canal! After learning paddling basics on land, we will launch our kayaks into the canal and head north for about 1 mile then turn around to paddle back down to Teddy Roosevelt Recreation Area (~2 miles total paddling), stopping along the way to learn about some of the tree species that grow near the canal.
Requested donation of $10 per paddler. Use of a kayak, paddles, and life jackets provided. We will paddle in light rain, but the program will be cancelled for heavy downpours or thunderstorms.
Single and tandem kayaks will be available. If you wish to specify your boat preference, please let us know when you register.
No paddling or tree ID experience necessary: this is a beginner-friendly program!
