Join the park naturalist as we hike a different trail each Thursday morning, September 1st through September 22nd, focusing on a different theme for each hike.

The September 1st hike will showcase the beautiful Sawmill Trail, which is a moderately difficult 2.0-mile loop trail. The Sawmill Trail is filled with rich pioneer history, and we'll discuss some of the area's history as we take a stroll along the beautiful Sawmill Run. Well-behaved, friendly dogs on a leash are welcome. Participants should wear sturdy hiking/walking shoes, and bring bug spray. *Rain will cancel the hike.

We will be meeting at the Sawmill Trailhead off of Old Mill Road.

Directions from Beltzville State Park:
Turn left out of the park’s main entrance. Proceed past the Army Corps of Engineers building & go approximately 1 mile. Look for a Big Creek Grange sign on the left. Turn LEFT onto Grange Road. At the bottom of the hill, turn LEFT onto Old Mill Road. You will pass 3 houses on the left. After the last house, turn LEFT into the Sawmill Trail parking lot. PLEASE NOTE - The entrance to the Sawmill Trail parking lot is unmarked. If you proceed over the small bridge, you went TOO FAR!
