Come and learn about some of the mushrooms of the park. Local mycologist Garrett Taylor has been all over the area looking for mushrooms growing in all seasons for the last 20 years after discovering his passion for them. As he describes it, this is prime time for mushroom diversity around here. Initially motivated by finding culinary delights, he discovered that many of their stories have yet to be written. That is what motivates him to go out collecting and saving specimens for science nearly every day they are present. Though sometimes it still is just to fill a basket with the aforementioned delights the forest when bountiful. There is always something new to learn about right here in the woods.
