CANCELED - The Educators Express: Project WILD on Wheels is FULL!

CANCELED - Amid concerns about the potential spread of COVID-19, all public programs, events, and trainings in state parks and forests are canceled through April 30. Except for the parks and forests that have been announced as closed, state park and forest facilities remain open.

 

  • DCNR- Lackawanna & Nescopeck State Parks invite you to this Project WILD workshop for all K-12 teachers and non-formal educators. The workshop will take place in Honesdale. During the day we will explore the Lackawaxen River and its’ wildlife from the table car of the Stourbridge Line. We will start in the morning at the Wayne County Conservation District and then depart the Stourbridge Line platform at 1 pm. There will be 6 hours of ACT 48 credit for this educational adventure. The fee, $25 payable in advance to the Commonwealth of PA, includes the newly revised PROJECT WILD K-12 CURRICULUM & ACTIVITY GUIDE plus PA Bald Eagles Educators Guide and the 2.5 hour train ride from Honesdale to Glen Eyre and return. Morning coffee and snacks will be provided, but lunch will be on your own in Honesdale. Some local establishments offer a discount with your provided train ticket.  Registration is required by March 13, by calling 570-945-7110. Email any questions to: anlambert@pa.gov.
