Telescope Tour
Changed due to storms. Note that strong thunderstorms are expected on Saturday evening. We have shifted our scheduled programs to a relaxed opportunity to stop by and learn from our education team. Staff will be at the park until 9:30 PM as weather permits.
Stay safe! Leave the field if you see lightning.

Free! No registration needed.
Look through park telescopes at some of the key features of the night sky - planets, stars, and more. Under the guidance of our volunteers and staff, embark on an amazing telescope tour of the night sky. We'll run the scopes, you'll enjoy the view!
🌌Milky Way Visibility (if clear skies): Average, most visible between roughly 11 PM and 12 AM. Visibility poor before/after that due to lingering sunlight and the rising moon.
--
🗺️Where: Use entrance here, park in the lot. Walk around the hill to the viewing field, the Night Sky Public Viewing Area.
💼Bring: Red-light flashlight, a jacket and blankets, and a folding/camp chair.
🚫Leave at home: Pets (only trained service animals allowed), alcohol, recreational drugs.
--
➡️ Check the Clear Sky Chart or AccuWeather Stargazing Forecasts for 48-hour forecasts of cloud cover and viewing conditions.
All programs will be cancelled in the event of rain or thunder/lightning.
We ask that park visitors please leave their pets at home. Dim lighting, large crowds and sensitive equipment do not create a pet-friendly environment.
Telescopes available on a first-come, first-serve basis for the time listed. Availability is subject to staff/volunteer availability, weather conditions, and crowd size limitations.
