National Reptile Awareness Day

While ancient dinosaurs have been extinct for over 60 million years, many modern reptiles including turtles, snakes, lizards, crocodilians and tuataras are now also at risk of a similar fate,  These fascinating and important creatures suffer from habitat loss, pollution and exploitation as pets, food and ritual folk medicines. Join your DCNR Park Naturalist (with artifacts and live specimens) for a trailside exhibit on our reptilian friends, their natural history histories and what we can do to help them. Registration not required. NOTE: DUE TO ROAD PAVING CLOSURE ON SANDY FLASH DRIVE SOUTH FROM OCTOBER 1-22, 2021 ACCESS TO MULTI USE TRAIL WILL BE BY FOOT OR BIKE ONLY FROM WOODEN GATES AT SYCAMORE MILLS ROAD/352; FORGE/PAINTER ROADS; OR BARREN ROAD BY WATERFALL.
