Going To Bat For Bats

Join your DCNR park naturalist to celebrate our world's only true flying mammals by visiting a trailside interactive exhibit table featuring our furry winged friends that devour tons of harmful insects, pollinate countless plants (including many human foods) and reseed vast areas of tropical rainforests. One out of every five living mammal species are bats, yet they are often feared and misunderstood, with many types now in serious decline. Stop by to learn about these fascinating creatures and how we can protect their habitat to help them survive in the future. April 25 is officially International Bat Appreciation Day, while October is celebrated as National Bat Month and caps with National Bat Week leading up to Halloween.
