All events will take place at the Environmental Learning Center.
10 am to 11 am- Fire Starting- Learn how to make a campfire without using matches or a lighter. Try out different methods, such as magnesium sticks and flint and steel.
11:00 am to 12:00 pm- Animal Encounters- Find out what to do if a wild animals gets too close. Discussion will include bears, snakes, porcupines, skunks, and many more.
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm- Map And Compass- Discover the basics of using a map and compass. All equipment will be provided.
2:00 pm to 3:00 pm-Edible Plants-Learn some of the edible plants that are found in Black Moshannon State Park and surrounding areas. Take a short hike to see some examples.
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm- Shelter Building-Find out some different ways to build shelters with limited supplies.
