Celebrate the upcoming summer season by getting outdoors and trying some recreational activities such as fly fishing, kayaking, or mountain biking. Learn about wild edible plants, mushroom foraging, or take a guided hike and see some of the beauty of our park up close. Special activities for children will be available such as building a bird box, searching for stream critters and various crafts. Local vendors as well as outdoor recreation and environmental organizations will have displays and activities for everyone to enjoy!
This year we will have a special guest, Van Wagner. Van Wagner is an educator. In the classroom, he teaches Environmental
Science at Lewisburg High School. Outside of the classroom he educates audiences with his music and programs on Pennsylvania History. He has released 21 original albums and published a book entitled "Coal Dust Rust and Saw Dust." His music and programs not only entertain but inspire audiences to become involved in learning more.
A food concession will also be available at the beach house. This is a great event for families, scout and youth organizations! Please obtain a complete agenda at the Halfway Run Environmental Learning Center on the day of the event!
