Discover Oil Creek State Park with an in-person early childhood nature program at Egbert Farm Day Use Area. Hands-on outdoor activities will have you and your little one exploring water, soil and plants for animals that call those habitats home. Recommended for ages 6 years and younger with accompanying adult. Free. No Registration.
This program is in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning. The 2024 Summer Learning and Literacy Road Trip program highlights many Pennsylvania State Parks. Throughout the summer families, teachers and early childhood education partners are invited to follow along and discover resources to support early literacy and learning. Along the way, get information about Pennsylvania libraries and State Parks with fun resources, activities to do with a child, and book recommendations to support early literacy and language. Road Detour Notice: Petroleum Center bridge in Oil Creek State Park is closed to all vehicle traffic. To access the Egbert Farm Day Use Area, follow detour signs in Rouseville, PA directing you onto Rt. 227. From Rt. 227, turn onto Petroleum Center Road to the Park Office/Egbert Farm Day Use Area.
