Student Action and Stewardship in Pennsylvania’s Capitol Region Virtual Educator Workshop

  • June 22 - 24, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm each day
  • This hybrid course will be conducted over three days. The first day will be virtual and will incorporate outdoor investigations in your local neighborhood. The 2nd & 3rd days will be in-person and will include investigations at Memorial Lake and Gifford Pinchot State Parks. These days will include stream/lake water investigations and a paddle experience. 
  • Now Open to ALL PA certified classroom teachers.

  • Act 48: 27 hrs.

Join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) and PA partners for this three-day course that focuses on the management of action projects in the Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE). This course will walk participants through the essential MWEE elements and how to connect local resources to their content to create rich learning opportunities outside of their classroom walls while incorporating student voice and managing the process. Successful completion of the course and final project will qualify participants for 27 Act 48 hours. Certified Pennsylvania classroom teachers in IU13 and IU15 are also eligible for a participation stipend and reimbursement for funds connected to a student action project. This course will be led by certified MWEE Trainers from Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF), DCNR- PA State Parks, and other partners. Questions?
