Story Book Trail - Leaf Man
301 Peninsula Drive, Suite 1, Erie, PA 16505-2042
Take a walk AND read a story at the same time!? Throughout the month of November 2021, visit Presque Isle State Park for a self-guided story walk along The Gas Well Trail beginning at the Rotary Pavilion.See map for location https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/PresqueIsleStatePark/Pages/Maps.aspx or pick up a map at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, 7 days a week, 8am – 4pm. Walk along on an approximately half mile journey with a man made of leaves in this autumnal classic by Caldecott Honor–winning author-illustrator Lois Ehlert.
Fall has come, the wind is gusting, and Leaf Man is on the move. Is he drifting east, over the marsh and ducks and geese? Or is he heading west, above the orchards, prairie meadows, and spotted cows? No one's quite sure, but this much is certain: A Leaf Man's got to go where the wind blows. Ehlert crafts each illustration out of actual fall leaves and die-cut pages on every spread that reveal gorgeous landscapes. Total walk is 1 mile. This self-guided trail discovery is fun for all ages and can be completed at your own leisure during daylight hours.
DCNR COVID guidlines will be followed.
