Canceled -- Stone Creek Kettle Ramble (at Penn-Roosevelt State Park)

Amid concerns about the potential spread of COVID-19, all public programs, events, and trainings in state parks and forests are canceled through April 30.
Except for the parks and forests that have been announced as closed, state park and forest facilities remain open.
PENN-ROOSEVELT - “Get Outdoors Pennsylvania” and enjoy this hike in the deep woods of Rothrock State Forest around Penn-Roosevelt State Park on Sunday, April 19, 2020. Kevin Busko, of the Mid State Trail Association, will lead the hike, with assistance from the Standing Stone Trail Club. The hike will follow the Mid State Trail (MST), Thickhead Mt Rd, McKinney Trail, Tar Pit Trails, then return to park. Meet at the Fireplace on the west side of the lake. The hike is classified as “moderate,” with rocky terrain and elevation gain.
“State Parks of Rothrock” is a new series of monthly hikes in partnership with Greenwood Furnace State Park, the Mid State Trail Association, and the Standing Stone Trail Club. The hikes are designed to target a wide variety of experience levels, from the casual to serious hiker. In addition, they will take place in the state parks that are located in the Rothrock State Forest District.
To fully enjoy the hikes, be sure to dress for the weather, with multiple layers of clothing, a hat and gloves, and good, waterproof, insulated boots. Properly dressed, you will stay warm and comfy. Bring water and a snack.
