Participate in science experiments related to snow and ice. The experiments and crafts will be geared towards ages 4 to 9, but any age is welcome. This is going to be messy. Wear old clothes. Meet at the Environmental Learning Center. Make a snowman jar to measure how much snow we get, then watch it melt to see how much liquid water is left. See a snowstorm in a jar, make some fake snow, and paint with "snow". Find out how warm-blooded animals are able to survive freezing water temperatures, go "ice fishing" for ice cubes, and make a crystal icicle. The icicle will need picked up at a later date. Most of the program will be indoors. We will take a short hike during the ice portion.
