Grow your own shiitake mushrooms on logs in your backyard! Shiitake mushrooms are easy to identify and grow. And delicious! To grow shiitake mushrooms, we “inoculate” hardwood logs by drilling small holes through the bark and then push in some sawdust filled with living mushroom parts. Place the logs outdoors in a shady damp spot, and nature does the rest! This workshop is designed for adult beginners who did not attend the previous workshop, however everyone is welcome. Learn how to choose your own logs this winter, and see some actively growing mushrooms. Dress for the weather, and you may wish to bring a lawn chair. Pre-registration is required.
