Science & Stories (3rd-5th grade Edition)
3025 New Holland Road, Reading, PA 19607
Join park staff for this scientific exploration of the forest told through an age appropriate story!
In this session for learners in 3rd grade through 5th grade and their adults, we will explore foxes in Nolde Forest.
To get our minds ready to explore we will start the session by reading “Foxes” by Laura Marsh. Thanks to a generous grant from The Lawrence Foundation and Books in Homes, USA, children who register will be able to take home a copy of the book at the end of the program. We hope that by reading the story again at home you can talk about and reinforce some of the discoveries we make out in the forest.
After the reading, we will hike examine pelts, skulls, and scat of the different fox species here in the Nolde Forest. Then we will will go on a hike to an area where the foxes tend to hang out to see if we can spy one.
Books and spaces are limited, so please register your entire group by clicking the green button.
