Science Investigation for Homeschool Audiences

Homeschool families are invited to Presque Isle for a two day science investigation program. This inquiry-based learning experience will immerse families in real world resource management issues and field study research. Please plan on attending both days. Day two will build off of day one, so attendace to day one is requred. Parents, you will be a participant working alongside your child in a team to formulate questions, conduct investigations, analyze data, and present findings. The content is designed at a middle-school learning level, however if you are comfortable assisting your younger learner, all ages are welcome. A small work-at-home assignment may be required. We will be meeting at the Rotary Pavilion for both days. We will be spending time both indoors and outdoors, please dress for the weather. Bring a packed lunch. Registration is required by October 11 by calling the Park Office at 814-833-7424. There is a $10.00 fee per family (that would include 2 adults and all their children) payable at the time of registration.
Programming is subject to modification or cancellation at the discretion of park staff. With at least three days’ notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs.
