Edible wild plants can provide new tastes and textures for your dining table. During this guided walk, you can learn a new use for what you may have considered only weeds. It is not enough to recognize the plant. You also need to know what part of the plant to use, when to harvest it, and whether it needs to be prepared in some way or can be eaten raw. We will cover all that, and describe the typical habitat for each plant.
Samples may be tried during the walk, and will also be served at the end of the walk.
The Northeast Mycological Federation will also be in the park and may help identify mushrooms.
