Come join us for a fun filled day of learning about black bears; including lessons on their biology, physiology, habits, habitat requirements and our agency’s management strategies.
Instructors will include Mark Ternent, our state’s black bear biologist and other staff members who will assist with the lessons and Project WILD activities.
No guarantees but every attempt will be made to have a live bear available for you to see what happens when one is caught; specifically the data that is collected and how it is tagged. And furthermore, how our tagging efforts are used in our management plan.
Teachers and educators from all grade levels are welcome.
Registrations will be accepted by contacting Patrick L. Snickles, State Game Warden Supervisor, Southwest Region, at psnickles@pa.gov or at 724-238-9523. You MUST include your name, phone number, email address and PID number.
