Project WILD Aquatic is an interdisciplinary, conservation, and environment education program focusing on aquatic wildlife and ecosystems. In 2013/2014, Project WILD National released a brand-new updated version of the Project WILD Aquatic WILD K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide which included significant changes. The ‘new’ WILD Aquatic guide now includes Field Investigation Activities, In Step with STEM activity extensions, a WILD Work career section, and Outdoor Components. This training will certify participants as Project WILD Aquatic facilitators who can offer their own Project WILD Aquatic workshops. It is open to DCNR education staff, interested Commonwealth employees, and any experienced Educator (formal or non-formal) who is interested in becoming a Project WILD Aquatic Facilitator. Certified Facilitators must commit to leading at least one Project WILD Aquatic workshop every 5 years to maintain active facilitator status. This training will be interactive, occur both indoors and outdoors, and participants will co-lead a Project WILD Aquatic activity (all materials provided).

Act 48 hours will be provided to certified teachers. Registrants do not need to have attended a 'regular' Project WILD or a Project WILD Aquatic Educator Workshop to become a Project WILD Aquatic Facilitator, but it is encouraged.

All interested attendees are invited to apply to be approved to attend. Space is limited; apply NOW. Beverages, breaks, and lunch provided. Each participant is responsible for all of their own overnight lodging and travel expenses. In Pennsylvania, Project WILD and Project WILD Aquatic are now coordinated by DCNR – PA State Parks with Carissa Longo designated as the State Coordinator. In Pennsylvania, Project WILD Aquatic requires a separate facilitator training from Project WILD.

  • Carissa Longo, PA Project WILD Coordinator & PA State Parks EE Program Coordinator
