Teaching about climate change is complex and often abstract, it expands across academic subject areas, and it is emotionally charged. This session will provide training on Project WILD’s Climate & Wildlife: An Activity Module for Grades 6-12, and it seeks to increase comfort with teaching about climate change utilizing this module and integrating climate change into the ELS of STEELS. This virtual workshop will be interactive, and attendees will get a chance to virtually participate in activities. It is open to all educators who work with students in grades 6-12, from formal teachers & pre-service teachers to naturalists, scout leaders, & more!
Project WILD curated this module to better equip educators in their efforts to build students' understanding, critical thinking, and ability to make well-informed decisions regarding impacts of and adaptations to climate change. With wildlife as a focal point to build student interest and relevancy, the eight-activities in this module will help students examine ecological phenomena relating to a changing climate. The module will be shipped to participants in advance of the training.
To be shipped your FREE Climate & Wildlife Module, attendees must register by June 25, 2026. Those that miss this registration deadline will not be guaranteed to receive workshop materials before the training. Space is limited.
