Calling all classroom teachers, school teachers, school counselors, career coaches, youth group leaders, and other formal and nonformal educators!

Get ready for a fun and engaging professional development event to help you engage learners in actively exploring sustainability, from forest products to green careers.

Start the morning with Bureau of State Parks Educators at Caledonia State Park located in Fayetteville, PA as we explore Project Learning Tree’s (PLT) NEW Thinking Outside the Box K-12 Activity Collection.

Participants will experience a morning of hands-on activities and STEM-focused investigations around the corrugated packaging industry.

Our group will then travel to International Paper (IP) located in Biglerville, PA for a tour of the corrugated box facility. Staff from International Paper will guide participants in small groups through IP’s Pennsylvania flagship box plant and showcase the vast career opportunities in corrugated packaging—shipping logistics, graphic design, electrical engineering, etc.

Each participant will receive a PLT Green Careers Resource Kit upon completion on of this workshop. The resource kit will include a copy of PLT's award-winning Green Jobs: Exploring Forest Careers; PLT's Black Faces in Green Spaces: The Journeys of Black Professionals in Green Careers, detailing the career pathways of 22 Black Americans in sustainability-focused forest careers; and PLT's newest activity collection created in partnership with ICPF, Thinking Outside the Box: Exploring Careers in Corrugated Packaging.

Pennsylvania teachers seeking continuing education credits will be eligible to receive up to 3.5 Act 48 hours.

This amazing day of professional development is FREE! Space is limited so register now! Registration closes on Friday, October 10, 2025.
