Teachers, scout leaders, and other educators are welcome to attend our Act 48 Workshops!
This workshop is for TWO separate curricula - PA Biodiversity & Project Learning Tree. The cost is $40 and does not include lunch. To register, payments can be made over the phone by calling 717-567-9255 or by check made out to PPFF. Payments can also be dropped off at the park office during business hours, 8am-4pm Mon-Fri.
The workshop will be held at Pavilion 3 in the Shoaff's Mill Day Use Area unless the weather is bad, then we will move to the park office.
PA Biodiversity Curriculum Guide - The Pennsylvania Biodiversity Guide for Grades 6-10 contains 12 Pennsylvania-specific, biodiversity-focused activities and an extensive, well-researched background section. The guide was developed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Pennsylvania Biological Survey, and is based on the World Wildlife Fund’s “Windows on the WILD: Biodiversity Basics” Curriculum.
Project Learning Tree - K-8 Explore Your Environment - Project Learning Tree (PLT) is a forest-themed environmental education curriculum created for both formal and non-formal educators and designed for K through 8th grades. Activities align to state & national standards and include subjects such as math, science, history, art, and social studies.
